Shawn Winter has been announced as PiiComm’s new Vice President of Marketing and Product Development for the rapidly growing technology firm.
Based in Ottawa, Mr. Winter will be responsible for Corporate Marketing and new Product Development to support PiiComm’s customer requirements and the company’s expansion into new vertical markets and services.
Mr. Winter brings an extensive range of experience to his new role with over 17 years of wireless and telecommunications experience. His most recent role was at Motorola Solutions Inc. as part of the Canadian Channel team responsible for managing relationships with Carriers and resellers of Motorola products for Enterprise and Government. He successfully enabled the VAR community to promote and deploy technologies that make companies more efficient and competitive in the marketplace.
Early on, Mr. Winter clearly showed his ability to identify the strategic importance of wireless technology and was a key individual at Bell Canada responsible for launching their 802.11 Wireless LAN practice serving business customers several years ago before Wi-Fi was a common term. Since that time he has added Mobile Computing Devices (MCD) for field workforces, Advanced Data Capture (AIDC) solutions including Barcode and RFID technologies, Wireless Security and Wireless VoIP to his portfolio.
