Artificial Intelligence in Enterprise Mobility

As AI Continues to Grow, What Are the Potential Applications for Enterprise Mobility?

Enterprise mobility is rapidly being adopted in multiple industries as companies try to work more efficiently and overcome the obstacle of physical space. With the advent of cell phones, workers now possess the resources to communicate information on the move. With smartphones, apps became invaluable shortcuts that could help people accomplish tasks more efficiently with a wide range of tools right at their fingertips.

The smartphone matured, amazing new features were added, creating new layers of functionality which went far beyond mere phones. These include apps that can use GPS to pinpoint the user’s location, a compass to detect device orientation, and AI-based personal assistants. As exciting as the development of artificial intelligence has been, it’s rapidly becoming the go-to tool for busy workers. AI such as Apple’s Siri, Amazon’s Echo, and Microsoft’s Cortana are  indispensable digital assistants no modern worker can do without.

More Efficient Enterprise Mobility

AI has rapidly emerged as the driving force behind efficiency, with modern workers wanting to work faster and smarter, not harder. Voice-activated helpers like Siri, facial recognition software, smart cars are  driven by AI.  The  potential applications in the field of enterprise mobility are staggering in scope and possibility.

We can define AI as computer software created to interact with human beings and make decisions based on those interactions. AI can predict needs and actions, and come up with solutions for the end user faster than they could themselves.

In turn, AI software has started speeding up a wide range of basic tasks, freeing up time for those things that require a more human touch. At this point, almost everyone uses voice activation for his or her computer. AI-based gesture recognition on computers and smartphones could soon mean the keyboard and mouse will disappear—or at least be supplemented by exciting new technology. 3D printing using AI is creating human organs, prosthetic limbs, and even a remarkably realistic recreation of a Rembrandt painting.  This is because of  algorithms and facial recognition software.

The only limits to what AI can be used for seem to be in our own imagination.  For example, AI can transform shipping through the creation of self-driving vehicles being developed by Apple and Google. Experts predict that more than 10 million of these vehicles will be on the road by 2020. What will this mean for future generations of enterprise mobility solutions? We’re certainly excited to find out!
